Love your neighbour

It has now been a little over a week since the recent mosque attacks in Christchurch took place. Where 50 innocent lives were taken as a result of a hate-fueled agenda.

I’m the bible Jesus spoke the importance of loving your neighbour, and it’s on par with loving Him.

Jesus didn’t say, love those who look like you, nor those who think like you, eat like you, worship like you, talk like you, or even walk like you.

Loving your neighbour means loving anyone who isn’t you. It means accepting that everyone is different, because that’s how God made us – diverse.

We look at a beautiful garden that is filled with many different plants, each one a different colour, a different shape, a different scent, a different role to play. And yet we marvel at its beauty.

Why can we not do the same with our neighbours? Why can we not view each other like God sees us? As each having our own personality and traits to bring to this brilliant and diverse garden.

The people of Christchurch have shown us what it’s like to love your neighbour in the aftermath of this horrible event, with their gifts of flowers, and donations of funds and food. With their hugs, and with their prayers.

But why wait for the worse to happen, why not start showing your love for your neighbours now?

Be the Good Samaritan in a crowd of Pharisees, care for others just like Jesus did, and look out for the well-being of your fellow human beings.

But to put it simply, love your neighbour as yourself. ❤️

Leviticus 19:18 KJV

[18] Thou shalt not avenge, nor bear any grudge against the children of thy people, but thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord .

Mark 12:30-31 KJV

[30] And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. [31] And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
